Centre for Research
in the History of Philosophical Ideas

Doctoral Studies and Continuing Education

Doctoral and continuing education is the centre’s fourth objective area: the training of young researchers and their integration into the CCIIF’s research activity. The statute explicitly provides for the organisation of a doctoral school, of summer schools, intensive and distance courses, thematic symposia and round tables, as well as the publishing of books and specialised publications.

What the centre offers

  • The integration of MA and PhD students into the centre’s research programmes (Statute, art. 8 and 18–19), including the possibility of carrying out research activities associated with master’s and doctoral programmes through the centre’s projects.
  • Summer schools and intensive courses — training programmes in the history of philosophy and intercultural studies (Summer schools).
  • Elective courses taught by the centre’s members for the faculty’s students — for example, the elective course “Ideological Projects of Late Modernity: the Left vs. the Cultural Right” taught by assistant professor Oana Șerban (the course announcement).
  • Internships — internships for students within the centre’s activities, such as the internship of 25–26 November 2016 (the internship announcement).
  • Student conferences and sections dedicated to young researchers — the national student conferences (“Identity and Representation”; “Philosophy and (Post)Modernity: Subject. Individual. Person”), with the selection of papers publishable in Analele Universității București — Seria Filosofie (the national conferences archive).
