The Centre for Research in the History of Philosophical Ideas (CCIIF) is a scientific research unit established within the University of Bucharest and hosted by the Faculty of Philosophy. The Centre carries out academic activities of excellence in the fields of the history of philosophy and intercultural studies, and inaugurates a tradition of public debates, of interdisciplinary philosophical dialogue and of research projects synchronised with the pedagogical activities of the Faculty.
The Centre’s activity is organised along directions of fundamental and applied research — from the history of philosophy, metaphysics and hermeneutics to the philosophy of the image, applied ethics and the dialogue between religion and philosophy — and takes concrete form in conferences, symposia and round tables, in national and international research projects, in specialist publications and in doctoral and continuing education programmes.
