Centre for Research
in the History of Philosophical Ideas

Summer Schools

The organisation of summer schools is one of CCIIF’s stated objectives in the field of doctoral and continuing education, alongside intensive courses, distance-learning courses and thematic symposia (Statute, Chapter II — the objectives of the centre).

Programme format

CCIIF summer schools are conceived as intensive, several-day training programmes devoted to themes from the history of philosophy and from intercultural studies, with sessions delivered by professors and researchers of the centre and by guests from other universities. The typical programme includes:

  • thematic lectures and seminars delivered by CCIIF members and by invited guests;
  • close-reading sessions on philosophical texts;
  • presentations by participants (undergraduate and MA students, doctoral candidates), followed by discussions;
  • related cultural activities in Bucharest.
