NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM Mircea Florian – the Philosophical Work from the Reconstruction of the Given to the Idea of Recessivity, occasioned by the commemoration of half a century since the thinker's death. The symposium is organised by the Romanian Society of Philosophy together with the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest, on 19 and 20 March 2010.

The re-editions of Mircea Florian's works, starting in 1990, have imposed two significant attitudes towards the ideas of this philosopher: the first consists in the unitary interpretation of the work, without conventionally separating the (posthumous) philosophy of recessivity from the earlier work; the second has to do with rethinking the place that Florian's philosophical work occupies in the horizon of Romanian philosophy. The aim of the symposium is to illustrate the results that the interpretation of the work in question has reached on the basis of these two attitudes and to point out possible themes for investigating a work that retains a considerable power of attraction for researchers of our philosophy.
