D PLATFORM — Cultural Instrument and Interdisciplinary Portal Dedicated to the Danube Area
Project code: PN-II-RU-TE-2014-4-2601.
D PLATFORM seeks to promote contemporary art, artistic debuts and the integration of young researchers into working teams, alongside the promotion of natural resources and authentic Romanian cultural values. Against the broader backdrop of the renegotiation of the relationship between the natural and the cultural, on the one hand, and the technological and the functional, on the other, the project carries out an objective interdisciplinary analysis of the Danube area, including activities of artistic, anthropological and environmental documentation.
The results are disseminated through the organisation of scientific colloquia, presentations and exhibitions at national and international level. The platform’s accessible structure — combining visual arts, site-specific environmental intervention, electronic music, urban cultural practices and audio-video projections — is designed to encourage education and cultural consumption, while the database of images, texts and interviews developed within the project constitutes a working tool for specialists in the humanities, artists and journalists. In the long run, the platform aims to facilitate the formation of national teams of young researchers capable of accessing the funding available in European research programmes (Creative Europe, Danube Transnational Programme 2014–2020).
Within the project, the National Conference “(Anti)Natură și (Post)Umanism” [(Anti)Nature and (Post)Humanism] was organised (Bucharest, 7 December 2016), in partnership with UNARTE Bucharest, with a call for papers addressed to young researchers, master’s students, doctoral candidates and teaching staff (post 676).
Partners: UNARTE Bucharest; the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest.
