We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, March 14, at a new CCIIF conference. Our guest is Ștefan Bârzu.
The theme of the conference: KIERKEGAARD DID NOT WRITE ANYTHING. ANOTHER HERMENEUTICS OF THE HETERONYMS.
We meet at 6 PM, in the Lucian Blaga Hall of the Faculty of Philosophy.
Abstract
This paper considers the reinterpretation of the hermeneutics of heteronyms in Kierkegaard's work[1] by retracting the emphases that privilege the author's intention and the continuous demand for a textual intention, independent of the author. In this sense, a historical reconstruction of the Kierkegaardian work constitutes only a necessary preliminary point, but not a sufficient one, in order to be able to speak of a possible interpretation. Consequently, this „other” hermeneutics of heteronyms takes two steps, one of contextual contemporaneity(the historical reconstruction that directs our interpretive possibilities) and one of metatextual contemporaneity(the way in which the intertextual world of the Kierkegaardian work represents, in itself, a text). The overlapping of these two steps is, in the hermeneutics of heteronyms, the opening of interpretation. Contextual contemporaneity follows both the external logic of the possibilities of discourse and meaning of the agents contemporary and proximate to Kierkegaard, and the internal logic of the heteronymous texts per se. Metatextual contemporaneity addresses the way in which heteronymy, as a literary act, configures a temporality and a proximity of its own, in Kierkegaard's case, mirroring the biblical structure. Finally, placing these two bases in the interpretive exercise on Kierkegaard's work will reopen for us the possibility of speaking, in parallel, not (only) about what Kierkegaard might have intended, but also about what the Kierkegaardian work intended and intends, each time, at the interpretive moment.
